Interview with Benjamin Harff, upcoming Tolkien illustrator and creator of the Edel-Silmarillion
On one of my wanderings around the internet I stumbled upon the article “Edel-Silmarillion als Diplomarbeit”. As by chance I discovered the most beautiful copy of The Silmarillion I had ever seen.
With a little help from the kind people of Der Herr der Ringe I got into contact with the creator of this “Edel-Silmarillion”, Benjamin Harff. He accepted to do an interview about his art work.
I truly hope to see more Tolkien art from this upcoming Tolkien artist! But for now enjoy this interview and the pictures of his version of The Silmarillion.

Laser Cut, Cardboard Type Installation
This is beautiful, and looks like a real labour of love. FooFarah’s Tumblr charts the whole process of her thesis creation.

n9ve’s most recent production, The Alphabet 2. Enjoy!
The Alphabet 2
(by n9ve)The Alphabet 2- a horn book video experiment - is a developmental spelling - video where each character visually represents the meaning of the word itself. Playing with different techniques and materials into little and big spaces, but always focusing on Helvetica font’s proportions. A collection of words in a delightful spelling-video.

I’m loving these!
Check out these great typographic posters of London, Paris and New York. Illustrator I’m an east coast girl so my heart obviously goes out to NYC, but these are my three favorite cities in the world. Sophie Henson is the creative genius behind them, and I’m so glad. Be sure to check out her website for more cool posters.
Oh, and here’s a cool closeup of the Paris one:
